PRM was asked to take over the provision of Health & Safety support to a contracting distribution business with several divisions employing in excess of 3,000 people. The company had employed a different consultancy previously but had not been satisfied with the generic manuals provided or the type of work undertaken. We carried out a series of risk assessment exercises to establish a baseline of risk and improvements which were needed, and in which the Company’s management was closely involved. Working with the company, we prepared a safety manual including the company’s policies and a set of standardised management procedures, along with employee handbooks, forms and checklists, including arranging printing, and rolled out a training/briefing programme to the sites. At the end of the exercise, the company was able to appoint its own in-house safety manager to carry on the work. |
